Grounds maintenance and landscape aftercare

Maintenance periods, watering regimes, defect rectification and ongoing grounds maintenance contracts, through our Grounds Maintenance Division.

Landscaped grounds on a completed housing development maintained by Wrights Landscapes

Wrights Landscapes Group operates a separate Grounds Maintenance Division covering contractual maintenance periods on our own installations and standalone grounds maintenance contracts for developments, estates and commercial sites.

A landscape scheme is signed off at practical completion but judged twelve or twenty-four months later. The maintenance period is where planting either establishes or is replaced at somebody's cost, so it is worth pricing and programming as seriously as the installation.

Scope

(01)

Contractual maintenance periods

Twelve- and twenty-four-month maintenance periods on installed schemes: grass cutting, watering, weeding, mulch topping up, formative pruning, stake and tie adjustment, and scheduled inspections with written records.

(02)

Watering regimes

Programmed watering of trees, shrubs and turf through establishment, by bowser or from site supply, with visit records so that the regime can be evidenced if failures are later disputed.

(03)

Defect rectification and replacement

Inspection for failures, identification of cause, and replacement planting to the original specification, with clear separation between establishment failure, specification failure and damage by others.

(04)

Ongoing grounds maintenance

Scheduled maintenance contracts for completed developments, managing agents, management companies, housing associations and commercial estates: grass cutting, hedge cutting, bed maintenance, litter picking and seasonal works.

(05)

Customer care

Responsive visits to occupied plots on housebuilder developments, dealing with landscaping items raised through customer care within the defects period.

(06)

Renovation and reinstatement

Bringing neglected or failed landscaping back into condition: scarification, aeration, overseeding, bed clearance, replacement planting and re-mulching.

Records

Every maintenance visit is recorded. When a tree fails eighteen months after planting, the question is always whether it was the stock, the pit, the watering or the weather. Dated visit records and photographs settle that quickly and keep it from becoming a commercial dispute at final account.
