Landscaping contractors for housebuilders
Plot landscaping, show homes, sales areas, communal landscaping and public open space, delivered plot by plot to a housebuilder’s handover programme.

Wrights Landscapes Group works as a soft landscaping subcontractor to national and regional housebuilders, delivering landscaping across whole developments from first show home through to final phase handover.
Housebuilder landscaping is a different discipline from one-off commercial landscaping. The work is repetitive, it is measured plot by plot, it has to fit around sales, snagging and customer care, and it is almost always the last trade on a plot before handover. We are set up for that: multiple gangs, plot-by-plot valuation, and a customer care function that responds to post-occupation issues without a separate procurement exercise each time.
What we deliver on a development
(01)
Plot landscaping
Front and rear garden landscaping to individual plots: topsoil placement and grading, turfing, seeding, shrub and hedge planting, bed formation, mulching and edging, sequenced to the handover programme.
(02)
Show homes and sales areas
Enhanced landscaping to show homes, sales suites and marketing areas, where finish standards and timescales are tighter than standard plots and the work is under public view from the day it is completed.
(03)
Communal and apartment landscaping
Landscaping to shared courtyards, car park surrounds, bin and cycle store surrounds, entrance areas and communal gardens on apartment blocks.
(04)
Public open space
Larger amenity areas, POS, attenuation basin and swale planting, buffer planting, structure planting and play area surrounds, usually with adoption or management company requirements attached.
(05)
Biodiversity and ecology works
Wildflower turf and species-rich seeding, native hedgerow and whip planting, and habitat planting delivered to meet biodiversity net gain conditions and ecological clerk of works requirements.
(06)
Maintenance and customer care
Twelve- and twenty-four-month maintenance periods, watering, replacement planting and defect rectification, plus responsive customer care visits to occupied plots.
Working to a handover programme
On a live housing development the constraint is rarely the landscaping itself — it is getting clean access to a plot in the right week, in the right season, with the levels right and the arisings gone. We plan around that: weekly plot releases, advance notice of what we need from groundworks, and honest advice about which plots should wait for a planting season rather than being turfed in August and replaced in November.
Commercial and contractual
We work on JCT and NEC subcontract forms and are familiar with application-for-payment, payment notice and pay-less notice procedures under the Construction Act. We provide plot-by-plot measurement to support monthly valuation, retention release and final account agreement.
